Grateful for this year!

The word grateful doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings looking back on this amazing year in my art career. My largest solo show to date, gallery representation in Oregon, two very prestigious group shows and my first year on the Camelback Studio Tour, just to go over the highlights.

🎨 I created 38 paintings for my solo show, Metamorphosis between 2021 and 2023 with a large portion of those being in 2023. All the while running my other businesses. The energy and excitement of watching this body of work come together kept me going.

🎨 I shipped off 9 watercolor paintings to the exquisite Brumfield Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. They have been wonderful to work with and I greatly admire their professionalism and aesthetic.

🎨 I got to attend 2 of my favorite art events of the year, Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale and the Tempe Festival of the Arts. I love being inspired by other artists and meeting them and talking about their work.

🎨 One of my paintings was accepted into a women artists group show at Shemer Art Center. It was a beautiful show with many talented artists.

🎨 I got to volunteer with my favorite organization, The Walter Hive.

🎨 I was accepted to an amazing group show at the Phoenix Zoo. It was an honor to be selected and the work is truly phenomenal.

💕 My husband and I got to celebrate our 20th anniversary with a trip to Ireland, Scotland and England. Everything was so green and lush and beautiful and the people were the most kind, friendly and funny that I’ve ever met.

The night we flew home from London was the opening of the Phoenix Zoo art show, and tired as we were, we made sure to attend!

🎨 I had the pleasure of jurying my first art show ever for the Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona. It was so much fun and I enjoyed attending their reception to congratulate all of the talented winners.

🎨 The opening night of my show Metamorphosis at the Walter Art Gallery was epic! Hundreds of people came and we sold quite a lot of paintings. It was incredibly rewarding to see all of my hard work hung beautifully in one space.

🎨 Closing night was just as amazing with many more paintings sold. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a person truly connect with the artwork I create.

🎨 Camelback Studio Tour was so much fun! It was our first year on the tour and we had quite a few visitors come by. We served coffee and pastries in the mornings and had happy hour in the afternoons. We met lots of new neighbors, friends and art lovers. I will definitely be on the tour next year in 2024!

Whew! That was a lot. Thanks for your support, encouragement, purchases and overall enthusiasm for the art work. It is so greatly appreciated and I am very grateful indeed this year. 🙏🏻

Looking forward to new things in 2024!
