Pet Portraits in Watercolor
Online Art Instruction with Andrea Merican
Painting animals is one of the most fun subject matters for me. Especially working from photos of people’s pets. Dogs and cats are so expressive and capturing their personalities in watercolor is truly a joy.
I will step you through painting a pet portrait of a sweet little pup.
We will keep the background splashy and abstract so our focus is on learning how to create expressive eyes and nose and the look of fur.
I explain my methods of working, while encouraging you to explore your own style.
Make sure you have a photo to work from and have your pet already sketched out so we can dive right into the fun part- painting!
