What I love about art
I am often asked how I got into art or how I knew I was going to be an artist. For me it really wasn’t a choice. It was a God-given talent from day one. I started drawing at the age of 3. I drew on everything and anything. My parents gave me a chalkboard and put “legs” on it so it could be set up anywhere in the house. I would entertain myself for hours creating new drawings. (Can you tell I’m an only child?)
I think one of the most amazing things about being an artist is how much I really love the entire process of art. I love buying art supplies. I love drawing, painting, and creating just about anything. I love losing hours of time in my studio totally immersed in a new painting. I love researching other artists and gaining new inspiration. I love finishing and framing art. I even love packing and shipping art when it sells! I love sharing my art with others on Facebook and Instagram. I love marketing a new show to my list of faithful supporters and collectors. I love spending time in the gallery and meeting new collectors.
All in all. I love everything about art!
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you are spending some time doing what you love today.
