Abstract Watercolor Class

Online Art Instruction with Andrea Merican

Abstract Art is art that does not attempt to imitate reality, but instead uses shapes, colors, lines and marks to explore ideas and concepts.

If you have been curious to try working in an abstract manner, but perhaps have been unsure of how to begin, my Abstract Watercolor Class is perfect for you.

In this course, I will teach you step-by-step how to create 2 different abstract paintings using watercolor paints, and a variety of mark making tools.

I will go over all of the supplies you will need and give you some optional choices as well.

The goal is not for you to paint what I am painting, but for you to free yourself up to create in a whole new way using gestural marks and colorful splashes of paint.

We will discuss painting intuitively rather than with a mapped-out plan. You will have fun exploring your creativity in a loose and liberating way.

No experience required. All are welcome!
